Welcome to Shula (شعلة) ("we," "our," or "us"). This comprehensive Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, maintenance, protection, and disclosure of information we receive from users ("you" or "your") of the Shula mobile application (the "App"). SHULA LAB LLC, an entity registered in Phoenix, Arizona, operates this App.
We recognize the importance of your privacy, especially concerning educational, personal, and spiritual tools such as Quran memorization. This document is designed to meet the rigorous privacy standards set by global data protection regulations and the Apple App Store Review Guidelines. By accessing, downloading, or utilizing the App, you explicitly consent to the data practices detailed within this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms outlined herein, please discontinue your use of the App immediately.
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
To provide an optimal and highly personalized experience, we collect various categories of information when you interact with Shula.
When you access the App, we may collect certain information automatically. This Usage Data may include, but is not limited to, your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address), device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, the pages or screens of our App that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other diagnostic data.
The Company may use Personal Data for the broadly defined purposes below:
We do not sell your personal data. However, we do integrate robust third-party platforms to ensure the stability, monetization, and analytical tracking of the App.
We utilize RevenueCat to securely manage all in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions. RevenueCat processes your purchase history, entitlement validation, and subscription status. It is important to note that SHULA LAB LLC does not collect, process, or store your credit card information or banking details directly. All financial transactions are securely processed by Apple via StoreKit.
We use Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to gather aggregated, anonymized data regarding App usage and crash reports. This helps us understand user behavior, pinpoint technical failures, and improve the overall reliability of the App. Google's use and collection of data are subject to their own stringent privacy policies.
We retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements.
Your Right to Deletion: In strict compliance with App Store guidelines and global privacy standards, you have the absolute right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data.
Deletion Process:
Execution Timeframe: Upon receiving your request via the in-app feature, all of your personal data, progress history, and profile information will be permanently erased from our active servers within 24 hours.
Important Notice Regarding Subscriptions: Deleting your Shula account does not automatically cancel your auto-renewable subscriptions. You must manually cancel any active subscriptions through your Apple ID settings on your iOS device to prevent future billing by Apple.
The security of your Personal Data is of paramount importance to us. We implement commercially reasonable, industry-standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Shula is designed as an educational and religious tool suitable for users of all ages. However, we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us immediately. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take rapid steps to remove that information from our servers.
Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. This means that this information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those from your jurisdiction. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements, operational practices, or App features. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. In the event of a material change to how we handle user data, we may also provide a prominent notice within the App. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
